Many years ago, a bunch of dudes in powdered wigs got together and wrote a little something called the constitutional amendments and they included a right to bear arms. That right has survived centuries of political upheaval and there are currently 80 million gun owners in the US!

Somebody has to fix those 80 million guns though. Enter the gunsmith. Gunsmiths repair, clean, assemble, and customize firearms. From restoring an antique gun for a collector to adjusting a factory-made gun for a competitive shooter, gunsmiths do it all!

In many locations gunsmithing courses teach students assembly techniques such as fitting barrels, pistol grips, scopes, and recoil pads as well as basic drafting, metallurgy, and welding.
