Electricians have one of the highest paying technical careers in the industry today. Electricians install, maintain, and repair electrical wiring in homes, buildings, machines, and equipment.

An electrician’s, a typical day could include wiring a security system, a home theater system, or a circuit breaker. Many electricians own their own businesses while others work for a corporation such as an automobile factory.

In many locations electrician programs will teach students all about reading wiring plans and electrical symbols, the national electric code, how to make electrical calculations, electrical safety, and sizing conductors.

Most aspiring electricians combine classroom learning with an apprenticeship where they work under the direction of a skilled electrician.

People with many Associate’s Degrees from an electrician program have many exciting career opportunities and a chance to work doing something they enjoy.
