How to Beat Spring Fever

Spring is just about on us and if you are anything like me, it has got you itching to go outside. Once-cozy quarters can certainly cramp your style when you see the sun shining but make sure it doesn’t cramp your GPA. Here are a few of our best tips to enjoy spring while staying on top of your classes.

Spring Fever

1- Go to Class: I know, I know this is exactly what you didn’t want to hear. You wanted to hear that class was a waste of time and that you could learn what you needed from the book. But this simply isn’t true. To really get the most out of college, and since you’re paying for it you might as well, you need to attend your lectures. Not only will you learn and receive hints to possible test questions, but many courses require attendance for a certain percentage of your grade. If going to class is never for you consider taking your classes online.

2- Make a Calendar: Make a calendar of all you need to accomplish between now and the end of the semester. Make sure to include all assignments, group projects, and tests. Review the calendar often to stay on top of things and once you’ve completed all you needed to do for the day, go out and play in the sunshine!

3-Take your books along: You know what is really convenient about those heavy wordy things you’ve been lugging around in your backpack? You can read them even in the sunshine! Chances are you’re studying on a laptop too so why is it always on your desk? Take them outside and study on the lawn while working on your base tan. The new study environment can really stimulate your mind and make new information easier to learn. Just make sure you’re not too distracted. If you find yourself watching the birds or local college boys playing frisbee, it is time to head back inside.

4- If you can’t beat it….Join in! Play frisbee with those boys, go for a quick run, or kick around a soccer ball. Exercise will help you to focus later and you won’t feel so cooped up in your dorm room. Just remember to wear your sunscreen!
